I’m happy to announce that my graphite drawing “Golfer’s Error” was awarded 2nd place in the Pacific Art League’s “Fur, Feathers & Fins” juried exhibit. The award came with actual cash, too: $125! For once, I recovered the cost of entry.
The show was open to all media, so there were oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, pastels, sculptures, photographs, prints and mixed media. It’s unusual for a graphite drawing to fare so well in competition with work in almost any other medium, so I was very surprised.
Something that was a little unusual for this exhibit was that the juror provided feedback about some of the entries, including mine, and the organizers typed up his comments and placed them with the pieces.
